UFC 88 Liddell vs. Evans: We Got KO’d

Before we launched MMA Fix, we were on a crazy sick run of picking fight winners. Swear. We even joked, “Now watch us go stone cold when we launch the site.”

This kind of shit always happens. We always used picked the right grocery story line until we started bragging about it. Now every time we get behind the old coot who still writes a check (who doesn’t have an ATM card in 2008???). And we had an unprecedented run of non-tranny-hookers until December of 2006 which is a night all of us vowed never to mention again.

What night?

Exactly.

And while we’re not exactly stone cold in our wagering predictions, we’re not exactly on a Brandon Lang picking 17 straight Super Bowl winners streak either.

The logic for last night seemed solid. Dan Henderson fought a great, “seasoned” fight. So that pick was on point. With Rich Franklin (reluctantly) moving up a class, the value was on picking Matt Hamill, so the call was right there. But who knew Hammill would come in with absolutely no gameplan, energy, or life in general? What an asshole.

Then came Chuck Liddell vs. Rod Tidwell Rashad Evans. That was looking really, really good for us at first. Liddell had Evans fighting his style. Liddell won the first round. And then Evans caught Liddell (much like Quinton “Batshit Crazy” “Rampage” Jackson) did with a vicious knock-out blow that may very well put the nail in the coffin of The Iceman’s career. Watch it below if you haven’t seen it 1,000 times already.

So sometimes the most well-thought out plans don’t necessarily work out. Hope you didn’t follow our picks as we lost $1,150. Time to get back on track for Affliction: Day of Reckoning.
