We’re huge fans of irony, so it’s pretty funny that former UFC heavyweight contender Jeff Monson was charged with a felony for first degree malicious mischief for spray painting an anarchy symbol on the Washington state capital building. So now he has to cooperate with the government and abide by its legal rules, although he does not believe in government or so-called “laws.”
Monson did so for an ESPN Magazine photo shoot (above right). Let’s just say that MMA fighters need to avoid being featured in ESPN Mag (see: Slice, Kimbo, and Monson, Jeff).
Monson said he sprayed the symbol as protest to the Iraq war and due to the disparity of rich and poor in U.S. America. We were surprised to learn that Monson isn’t actually 16 years old, because that’s the average age of people who do this shit.
According to The Olympian newspaper:
“First degree malicious mischief is a Class B felony with a maximum sentence of up to ten years in prison. The graffiti on the side of the building is said to have cost more than $19,000 to remove.”
