Bluff Magazine is reporting that Chuck Liddell has inked an UltimateBet sponsorship deal for UFC 97.
Says the mag:
“The company announced late Monday that they had secured a sponsorship with UFC to have billboards as well as commercials inside the Bell Centre during the event. The biggest news however is that the online poker room has secured the rights to sponsor MMA superstar Liddell for his bout with Mauricio ‘Shogun ‘Rua as well as four other fighters.”
While definitely a marquee signing, UB doesn’t seem to be throwing the coin around by patching up multiple fighters as liberally as Full Tilt Poker did. Whether or not their sponsorship agreement with UFC lasts past April remains to be seen.
Liddell is one of the few fighters not patched up by Full Tilt recently. However he did don a Poker Stars endorsement (seen above) when he played at the 2008 World Series of Poker Main Event.
