“The Ulimate Fighter: Heavyweights” Ep. 4 Recap

tuf_10_cast-450x337

So yesterday we told you that Dana White has promised better fights for TUF 10 from here on out…so…how was last night’s bout? (Spoilers coming up) It wasn’t awful, but it wasn’t fantastic either. Rashad Evans and company matched Brendan Schaub up against Demico Rogers, a fight which, when it was announced, seemed to please Rampage Jackson mightily.

Early into the bout Rogers looked to take Schaub to the mat, and after a poorly timed first attempt, the Team Rampage heavyweight finally succeeded in getting the takedown. From there Rogers managed to land a few shots, nothing too serious, before moving into sidemout. Schaub made his move soon after, bumping Rogers off before sinking in a sweet, fight ending, anaconda choke moments later.

Afterwards, rather than get in the cage to, you know, make sure Rogers was alright, maybe offer him a little reassurance, an angry Rampage and his coaches didn’t even check on the fighter. (It was the saddest thing we’ve seen since watching  Marley and Me...)

Anyways, what else…well, remember last week’s preview for episode 4, where the announcer couldn’t stop blathering on about the possibility of Kimbo Slice getting back in the competition? Well, aside from Marcus Jones sweating profusely for a few odd minutes, like the MMA Fix staff at an all you can eat buffet, not much was doing on the Kimbo front. (Aside from a few guys giving him props)

And oh yeah, Team Evan’s Matt Mitrione demonstrated why he won’t be joining Mensa International anytime soon, as after learning what match-ups Rashad and his coaches wanted to roll with, Mitrione went and  told Team Rampage’s Scott Junk . Smooth…

This is a message for Dana. Dana this is Larry Spencer from Moncton New Brunswick on the East Coast of Canada. I’m not sure if you can help me or not. A friend of mine by the name of Jean Louis Brun a big, big fan of ulimate fighter, the UFC and MMA is in a comma fighting for his life, from the H1N1 Virus. He has been on life support for, well it will be 3 weeks this Monday. If there is anything you could do it would be great. You know even a letter sent to me and I’ll get his family to read it to him because only family members are aloud in the hospital room. Hey if you could send a hat because he has over 500 hats in his hat collection, that would be great aswell. If you want to send the hat you can send it to my address and I’ll make sure he gets it, by the way this is not some kind of a scam for a $40.00 hat it’s just that he is starting to hear a little when they go see him, like they ask him to flick his eyes if he could here them and he did. Aside from the comma he now has blood clotts in his lungs and his legs. Like I said a letter would be great so they could read to him bed side and his favorite fighter is Kimbo, so if he could send some words it also would be awsome. My address is
    Larry Spencer
    99 Joyce ave, Apt # 112
    Moncton, NB

    Canada
Again thanks for anything you can do and again His name is Jean-Louis Brun.
