After UFC 104 came to an end pretty much 99% of the post-fight talk circulated around Lyoto Machida’s UD win over “Shogun” Rua, and not the card’s other feature attraction, where Cain Velasquez stopped UFC newcomer Ben Rothwell in the second round. When referee Steve Mazzagatti jumped into the stop the fight, Rothwell was working his way back to his feet, despite taking punch after punch to the face. Now although the blows weren’t spraying the heavyweight’s blood back 20 rows into the crowd, far from it, Velasquez had been giving it to Rothwell pretty good up to that point. Speaking to Cage Report, Rothwell made it abundantly clear that he didn’t care for the stoppage.
“That’s is why I wasn’t covering up – the punches didn’t hurt and definitely weren’t doing any damage, at least not enough to slow me down, but then he [Steve Mazzagatti] calls the fight? Please, my grandmother hits harder that that.”
Wow. Ben’s grandma sounds pretty tough. And in regards to the fight overall, Rothwell added that although he doesn’t want to take anything away from Velasquez…
“You know Shogun wasn’t the only one robbed that night. So what If I lost the first round by a small margin, all that meant is there were still two rounds up for grabs, my shoulders were just loosening up at the beginning of the second round – the real fight was just getting started.”
Small margin huh. Well, the diffence between 10 and 8 is only two…

Thats a joke, it may have been a premature stoppage but Cain was in another league to Rothwell.
