If you follow this site then you know that we’re pumped about this Saturday’s bout between Michael Bisping and Denis Kang. Yes, we also expect to giggle annoyingly with excitement when Randy Couture throws down with Brandon Vera, but this middleweight clash should be a dandy, not just because Bisping and Kang are great fighters, but because there’s a lot riding on the fight.
It’s no secret that Bisping is looking to make a big statement at UFC 105 this weekend, specifically because his name is now forever tied to the sentence ‘my girlfriend won’t even watch MMA anymore because of that fight.’ (He was KTFO by Dan Henderson if you’re new to the whole MMA thing) Speaking to MMA Junkie, Kang acknowledged that he expects Bisping to come out firing Saturday night.
“”Everybody gets over losses differently,” Kang recently told MMAjunkie.com Radio “I think this fight [Bisping] really needs to make a statement, not only to his fans but to himself because he’s coming off a bad loss.”
Now, all the talk surrounding Bisping’s last loss aside, this is also a huge bout for Kang, who after becoming one of the top dudes in Pride, has struggled over the last couple of years. Mr. Kang you agree right?
“It’s almost like a free fight for me because I’m getting in there, and there really isn’t too many expectations the way I see it,” Kang said. “It’s his hometown, and he’s the one coming off the rebound. He’s the one that’s got a little bit more pressure to perform and live up to expectations.”
Huh. Guess not…To bet on the bout or others from UFC 105 head here.
