Fedor Emelianenko and Brett Rogers to Appear on CBS NFL Broadcast

Do football fans like MMA? We know so. Both sports include dudes bashing into one another. Both sports go nicely with beer. Both sports have hot girls walking on the sidelines to keep you interested during breaks in the action.

Based on this logic (so we assume), it looks like CBS is going to hype up next Saturday’s bout between Fedor Emelianenko and Brett Rogers, by having the two appear during the network’s NFL broadcast today. According to a report by MMA Junkie, “sources close to the organization” have informed the outlet that Emelianenko and Rogers will appear at this afternoon’s game between the Chicago Bears and Cleveland Browns (the Nov. 7th bout takes place in Chicago) and that further, the heavyweights will be interviewed during the halftime show.

Whether or not 90% of the people watching today will have any idea as to who these menacing lads are, or what in fact Strikeforce is, well that’s another matter, but that’s exactly the point of all this isn’t it? Get the millions watching today to tune into next week’s fight. If it works, if Fedor can win his bouts with Strikeforce over the next year, and if he can build a big following courtesy CBS, the Russian star will hold considerably more chips next time he sits down with the UFC. Who do you think Dana White will be cheering for next Saturday?
