Karo Parisyan Out of UFC 106

News is breaking this afternoon that Karo Parisyan has pulled out of this weekend’s UFC 106 card. The judo stud had been scheduled to fight Dustin “Mind My Rubber Guard” Hazelett. Word that Parisyan would not compete broke via UFC head honcho Dana White, who ‘tweeted’ earlier:
“Karo Parisyan has f—ed over the UFC, the fans and his opponent again!!! He will not be fighting saturday or ever again in the UFC!!”
Wow. That’s one fired up Dana (even by his tempermental standards). In an updated story by Sherdog.com’s Loretta Hunt, apparently Parisyan approached the Nevada State Athletic Commission a few weeks ago to find out what medications were allowed to treat a “nagging injury”. The welterweight was reportedly advised to have his doctor contact the NSAC.
In addition, the Sherdog story reports that the NSCA had worked out a payment plan with Parisyan to pay off the $32,000 fine he incurred earlier this year, for testing positive for several painkillers after his bout with Dong Hyun Kim. According to the report, the NSAC is claiming that Parisyan was licensed to fight Saturday.
In a report by MMA Weekly, however, Parisyan is saying that he is not licensed to fight until he pays the 32 g’s. Stating:
“I had to pay the $32,000 fine in order to fight. I never paid because I never had the money. I don’t know if I’ll be able to come back.”
If your WTF? senses are tingling; you’re not the only one. To bet on the bouts that are actually happening head here.
