Paul Heyman Says Brock Lesnar Was Ill

Recently the internet was set alive with speculation and conjecture, after it was revealed that Brock Lesnar attended a Minnesota Viking’s game as a guest of honor. (He even got to blow a massive horn…that sentence still sounds odd doesn’t it?) Due to the fact that Lesnar had just recently withdrawn from his UFC 106 bout with Shane Carwin, due to reportedly being severely ill, some pundits and fans alike wondered how and why the champ seemed fine at the game. We were always hesitant to buy into the ‘what’s really going on here’ conspiracy thought process, (despite the fact that we love to dabble in rabble rousing) as really, the video footage didn’t prove much either way.
According to former pro-wrestling promoter Paul Heyman, who one should note is apparently buddies with Lesnar, he can vouch that the heavyweight champ has indeed been sick. According to Heyman’s blog on the Crave Online network, Lesnar told him approximately three and a half weeks ago that:
“I’m just exhausted,” he admitted, “I train, I come home, and I crash. I’m going to take a day or two off and just try to shake this thing.”
When Heyman spoke to Lesnar one week later, the Minnesota fighter apparently was still planning on beating Carwin’s “ass,” but conceded that he was still having trouble shaking off the illness. So what can one draw from all this? Well, although Heyman’s backing doesn’t dismiss the conspiracy theories outright, it doesn’t help out the anti-Lesnar lobby either.
