Tito Ortiz Says Forrest Griffin’s Head “Softer Than Mine”

ortiz

This Saturday, at UFC 106 in Las Vegas, former light-heavyweight champs Tito Ortiz and Forrest Griffin will throw down for the second time. Both dudes are in need of a win. Of course, Tito ‘Always Be Selling’ Ortiz is back in the UFC for the first time since losing to Lyoto Machida, while Griffin is coming off back-to-back stoppages at the hands of Anderson Silva and Rashad Evans. (With the ‘’holy sheeet’ loss to Silva still being vividly fresh in the minds of many)

Heading into this weekend’s fight it sounds like Ortiz has little doubt that he’ll be the victor over Griffin once again. (If you haven’t seen their first bout- your life is incomplete. Ortiz eked out a Split Decision win in 2006) Speaking to Fanhouse, the 34 year-old-light-heavyweight pointed out that Griffin is coming off a couple of stoppage losses, while citing the fortified noggin he’s been blessed with as an advantage.

“I’m going to give Forrest all he can handle,” he says. “I think I’m a lot stronger and faster, and his head is softer than mine. He’s been knocked out in his last couple fights, and I’ve never been knocked out in my career. Yes, Chuck Liddell stopped me, but I was never unconscious. Let me knock on wood that that’s never going to happen… I hope he comes in shape, because if he doesn’t, he’s going to get hurt.”

Yes. Forrest’s head is likely softer, as Tito’s has almost certainly never been described as ‘undersized,’ and yes, to his credit, Ortiz has never be KO’d (Evidently years of bleaching your hair does not erode one’s bone density). Anatomy chat aside… the bout should be a dandy.
